A group of 12 philanthropic women from Fairfield County, CT contribute $12,500 to the Daniel Trust F
The Daniel Trust Foundation is pleased to announce that a group of 12 philanthropic women from Fairfield, Westport, and Easton have contributed $12,500 to the Foundation in support of our programs and services. Every year, the group identifies and funds an organization that is making a big impact in the community. Each member contributes $1,000 and collectively, those funds are donated to a worthy cause. This year, one of the members, Karen Mitri, was searching for potential charities to support on Google and came across our Founder and CEO's interview on News 8 with Ann Nyberg.

After watching the interview, Karen introduced our work to her group and invited Daniel to have lunch with the women, so they can learn more about the Foundation and the impact we are making in the community. After meeting Daniel, the 12 women agreed that the Daniel Trust Foundation was worthy of their contribution this year. "When Karen called me to tell me that the women had voted to support the Foundation this year, I shed a few tears of joy," said Daniel Trust, Founder and CEO of The Daniel Trust Foundation. "Something like this doesn't happen often, so I am really grateful to the 12 women for believing in us, seeing our potential and investing in our mission."

3 of the 12 women Sue Trischman, Karen Mitri and Linda DeSilva attended the 4th Annual Daniel Trust Awards on June 2nd where they got to see first hand the impact of their contribution. At the end of the program, Daniel invited the women to say a few words on stage and here is what Sue Trischman had to say on behalf of the group. "We are a philanthropic group and every year we try to identify one worthy cause to support, but it is so hard as there are so many. We loved Daniel immediately and we were so impressed with all that the Foundation does and we can't thank you enough. We are honored and truly humbled. Thank you so much for all that you do. It really makes our time so worth while." We would also like to mention that Sue and Karen each pledged and donated an additional $2,000 to the Daniel Trust Foundation in support of two of our scholars. "I sincerely thank Sue and Harold Trischman, Karen and Michael Mitri, and Linda and Doug DeSilva for attending The Daniel Trust Awards and helping me make the event special," said Daniel Trust, Founder and CEO of The Daniel Trust Foundation. "The 4th Annual Daniel Trust Awards would not have been possible if it wasn't for Karen and her group. These 12 women will forever hold a special place in my heart."
