The Daniel Trust Foundation, an award-winning youth development nonprofit organization that invests in and supports low-income students with their educational and professional goals is accepting applications for its high school mentoring program in Bridgeport, CT and New York City. The Daniel Trust Foundation High School Mentoring Program is an intensive 30-week academic program. Enrolled students participate in a weekly class for 15 weeks in their junior year focusing on SAT prep and receive one-on-one coaching, training, and mentorship for 15 weeks in their senior year focusing on College Readiness, Career Preparation, Financial Literacy and Teen Driving Education. Once students graduate from the high school mentoring program, they become scholars in the Daniel Trust Foundation College Scholarship Program in which they receive a $2,000 scholarship ($500 per year for 4 years) to help them pay for college textbooks and other related college expenses.
Applicants for the Daniel Trust Foundation Mentoring Program must:
Be high school juniors in Bridgeport, CT and New York City with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Be able to attend a 2-hour weekly 15-week SAT prep class starting in January 2018.
Be able to attend a weekly 1-on-1 meeting with a mentor starting in September 2018.
Plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year college upon graduating from high school in June 2019.
Have a desire to develop leadership skills and be passionate about community service.
Demonstrate financial need by providing family income information on the application.
The Daniel Trust Foundation Mentoring Program Application is now open and closes on November 30, 2017. Our Team will review applications the week of December 4, 2017 and qualified candidates will be invited for a FaceTime or Skype interview the week of December 11, 2017. All applicants will receive the status (accepted or declined) of their application on December 22, 2017.
A total of 20 students will be selected to participate in the program. 10 students in Bridgeport, CT and 10 students in New York City. In Bridgeport, classes will be held at the B:Hive (285 Fairfield Avenue Bridgeport, CT) on Tuesdays, 5-7pm and in New York City, classes will be held at The Yard (234 Fifth Avenue New York, NY) on Thursdays, 5-7pm. Note that meeting dates and times are subject to change should the Foundation find the need to do so.

The Daniel Trust Foundation invests in and supports low-income students with their educational and professional goals. The Foundation also honors teachers who are making a difference in the lives of their students and communities in which they teach. The Foundation accomplishes its mission through 3-targeted programs towards the needs of the community.
