Daniel Trust Foundation, an award-winning youth development nonprofit organization with offices in Bridgeport, Connecticut and New York City, is pleased to announce that, Edward Greenwood of Trumbull, Connecticut is sponsoring a 1-year scholarship at The 5th Annual Daniel Trust Awards scheduled for June 7, 2018. The Daniel Trust Awards serves as Daniel Trust Foundation’s annual awards dinner, where seniors graduating from the Foundation’s High School Mentoring Program become Scholars in the College Scholarship Program, and local high school teachers get the opportunity to be honored and recognized by the Scholars.

Edward Greenwood has been investing in and supporting the mission of Daniel Trust Foundation since 2016. Edward was introduced to the work of the Foundation by Omar Lukole, an Alumni of the Foundation’s High School Mentoring Program and a Scholar in the College Scholarship Program. Inspired by Daniel Trust Foundation’s mission and impact, Edward reached out to the Foundation and offered to volunteer his time and skills. Today, Edward serves as an Advisor on the Foundation’s Advisory Board and is a Member of the Foundation’s Monthly Giving Program. “I have so much love and respect for Edward Greenwood. He has been such a great friend and mentor, not only to me, but to many of our scholars,” said Daniel Trust, President and CEO of Daniel Trust Foundation. “I will forever be thankful to him for providing mentorship and support to Madson Coridon and for all he does to help the Foundation make a big impact in the lives of young people and teachers.”

In addition to everything Edward Greenwood does to invest in and support the mission of Daniel Trust Foundation, he works in the community as the Economic Empowerment Program Manager at the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI), a statewide nonprofit organization that assists refugees and immigrants resolve legal, economic, linguistic and social barriers so that they become self-sufficient, integrated and contributing members of the community. CIRI achieves this mission by providing a compassionate array of high-quality legal, social and educational programming and by promoting cross-cultural understanding and decent treatment for all.
