Daniel Trust Foundation, an award-winning youth development nonprofit organization with offices in Bridgeport, CT and New York City, is pleased to announce that Ricardo Baires, a Spanish Teacher and Coordinator of the World Language Department at Bassick High School, is sponsoring a 4-year scholarship at The 5th Annual Daniel Trust Awards on June 7, 2018. The Daniel Trust Awards serves as Daniel Trust Foundation’s annual awards dinner, where seniors graduating from the Foundation’s High School Mentoring Program become Scholars in the College Scholarship Program, and local high school teachers get the opportunity to be honored and recognized by the Scholars.

Ricardo Baires has been investing in and supporting the mission of Daniel Trust Foundation since 2017. Last March, Ricardo hosted “Cheese, Wine and You For A Good Cause” at his home in Milford, Connecticut, where he invited his family, friends and colleagues to learn more about the work of Daniel Trust Foundation and the impact the Foundation is making in the lives of young people and teachers. Ricardo’s house party raised over $3,500 for Daniel Trust Foundation. “I would like to sincerely thank Ricardo Baires for sponsoring a 4-year scholarship at The Daniel Trust Awards for the 2nd year in a row,” said Daniel Trust, President and CEO of Daniel Trust Foundation. “Ricardo, I’m so grateful for your friendship and for continuing to invest in my mission and vision. Please know that your investment in my scholars is truly appreciated.”

Last year, Britney Galloza, an alumna of the Daniel Trust Foundation Mentoring Program and a Scholar in the Daniel Trust Foundation Scholarship Program at Fairfield University, honored Ricardo with The Kathy Silver Award at The 4th Annual Daniel Trust Awards. Ricardo has been teaching for 15 years and his dream has always been to see all his students accomplish their educational and professional goals.
