Anecia Gidden, an Alumna of our College Scholarship Program, has secured a job at Yale NH Hospital
We are so proud to announce that Anecia Gidden, an Alumna of our College Scholarship Program, is graduating this May with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University and has already secured a job at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Currently, Anecia works at Yale New Haven Hospital as a Patient Care Associate. In August, she will begin her nursing journey working on the Orthopedic/Spine Surgical floor.
We’ve known Anecia for 5 years. She became a Scholar in our College Scholarship Program in 2016 after graduating from Fairchild Wheeler High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
“I thank Daniel Trust Foundation for selecting me for this prestigious scholarship when I graduated high school. The scholarship helped me buy the expensive nursing textbooks I needed for my classes,” Anecia said. “Thank you for helping me through my college journey.”
At Southern Connecticut State University, Anecia was involved in several clubs and organizations. She served as Vice President of Academic Experience for the Student Government Association, Secretary for the Class of 2020 and as a Freshman Leadership Experience Leader.
Anecia also served as a Senior Student Worker in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at SCSU in charge of overseeing numerous activities, which included evaluating transcripts for incoming students, training new student workers, and working with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to relay new protocol to student workers.
“It has been an honor to witness Anecia’s growth and success over the past 5 years,” said Daniel Trust, President and CEO of Daniel Trust Foundation. “I know the Nursing Program at Southern was very tough. To see her complete the program is truly inspiring and amazing.”
As a scholar in the College Scholarship Program at Daniel Trust Foundation, Anecia received a $2,000 scholarship which was awarded to her over 4 years.
Since 2014, Daniel Trust Foundation has provided mentorship and support to 115 young people in the United States and has awarded over $100,000 in college scholarships.
