Top Rwandan Rapper and Hip Pop Artist Arnaud Gray is set to Judge The Daniel Trust Music Challenge
22-year old Rwandan Rapper Arnaud Gray is on the path to become on of the most respected and well known hip pop artists in Africa and around the world.
Arnaud Gray who was the winner of The 2020 Daniel Trust Music Challenge has released several successful singles and features, which include “Anger Issues," “Come Closer” and “CYAZE." His latest hit, “International” featuring ET, is trending worldwide.
“Every song that I’ve released under the name "Arnaud Gray" either as a feature or single, were all written by me but produced by different producers like Pro Zed and Kriss Espoir,” Arnaud said.
Daniel Trust Foundation has invited Arnaud to serve as one of the three judges for The 2021 Daniel Trust Music Challenge, a digital singing competition for youth in Rwanda.
“Last year, several friends sent me the challenge, but I doubted I could join and be the winner,” Arnaud said. “Winning the challenge helped me get recognized and the money helped me afford my first ever music video "CYAZE." The challenge really boosted my career.”
Arnaud advises this year's contestants to be creative with their video submissions. “To me creativity distinguishes you from other contestants,” Arnaud said.
The goal of The Daniel Trust Music Challenge is to give Rwandan youth the opportunity to showcase their music talent to the world and to help them launch their music careers.
To enter the competition, contestants must record a 1-minute video showcasing their music talent, post the video on their Instagram account using the #DanielTrustMusicChallenge hashtag and tag Kaya, Arnaud, Rluta, Daniel and the Foundation.
The winner of The 2021 Daniel Trust Music Challenge will receive a Rwf1,000,000 cash prize and will receive publicity on Daniel Trust Foundation’s website, blog and social media. The 1st runner-up of the competition will receive a Rwf650,000 cash prize. The 2nd runner-up of the competition will receive a Rwf350,000 cash prize.
“It's an honor to serve as a Judge and Brand Ambassador for the challenge this year,” Arnaud said. “It feels really good to be able to give back to the community in this capacity.”
Arnaud’s favorite artists are Jay-Z, Skepta, Drake and Tekno. He dreams of collaborating with WizKid in the near future.
“My dream is to get Rwandan music to be recognized globally,” Arnaud said. “My career and personal goals are to be among the best rappers from Africa and to buy my mother a house.”
Arnaud graduated from Mount kenya University with a Major in International Business. He lives in Gisozi, Kigali.
