2009 - 2013

 

Daniel Trust establishes the Foundation while attending Southern Connecticut State University.

2013

 

The Kathy Silver Award is created. Daniel Trust takes $1,000 from his personal savings account and awards it to his high school Arts Teacher Kathy Silver to honor her for the impact she made in his life while attending Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

 

2014

 

Connecticut Magazine honors Daniel Trust with the 40 Under 40 Award for his philanthropic work.

 

The Daniel Trust Foundation Scholarship Program is created.

 

Daniel Trust takes $5,000 from his 401(k) retirement account and awards $4,000 to 8 high school graduates and $1,000 to his Science Teacher and Volleyball Coach Dr. John Casper to honor him for the impact he made in his life while attending Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut at The 1st Annual Daniel Trust Awards featuring keynote speaker Rohan Murphy, an American Paralympian and a Nationally Recognized Motivational Speaker.

 

Daniel Trust Foundation becomes a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt nonprofit organization.

 

Daniel Trust creates The Daniel Trust Foundation Mentoring Program with Sachin Manning, a Junior at Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, as the first mentee.

GreatNonprofits.org names Daniel Trust Foundation a 2014 Top-Rated Nonprofit.

2015

 

Daniel Trust hosts The 2nd Annual Daniel Trust Awards featuring keynote speaker Nicholas Ferroni, an Award-Winning Educator and Activist, and Founder of “Teach the Truth” Campaign at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport, Connecticut and awards $7,000 to 14 returning and new scholars and $2,500 to 7 educators nominated by the new scholars.

2016

Daniel Trust becomes the first employee of Daniel Trust Foundation.

 

Fairfield County Business Journal honors Daniel Trust with the 40 Under 40 Award for his philanthropic work.

 

Daniel Trust hosts The 3rd Annual Daniel Trust Awards featuring keynote speaker Jim Ziolkowski, President and CEO of BuildOn and Author of The New York Times Bestselling book “Walk in Their Shoes,” Connecticut Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, State Senator Marilyn Moore, and State Representative Steven Stafstrom at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport, Connecticut and awards $14,000 to 28 returning and new scholars and $3,500 to 14 educators nominated by the new scholars. 

 

TRUST, an award-winning film by Heather Mooney starring Sachin Manning and Daniel Trust premieres at The 3rd Annual Daniel Trust Awards. Inspired by the film and our work, State Senator Marilyn Moore pledges and donates $1,000 to support our mission.

 

Daniel Trust is invited to speak about the Foundation’s work at The Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Conference in Hong Kong and at the headquarters of Sony PlayStation in San Mateo, California.

 

2017

 

Daniel Trust hosts The 4th Annual Daniel Trust Awards featuring keynote speaker Jahana Hayes, 2016 National Teacher of The Year and U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (via a pre-recorded video) at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport, Connecticut and awards $22,500 to 41 returning and new scholars and $2,750 to 11 educators nominated by the new scholars.

The CT Fashion Music Awards honors Daniel Trust with the Community Activist Award. 

Daniel Trust Foundation creates a partnership with Old Navy in Trumbull, Connecticut and 2 high school students in our mentoring program and 1 student in our scholarship program are hired as Brand Associates.

GreatNonprofits.org names Daniel Trust Foundation a 2017 Top-Rated Nonprofit.

 

Daniel Trust announces the expansion of the program to New York City starting January 2018.

 

2018
